We collect minimal data to ensure the best possible experience and to improve our zero-latency audio engine. The data we collect includes:

• Telemetry and Usage Data: We use analytics tools (like PostHog) to collect anonymous telemetry data, such as feature usage and error logs.
• Device Information: We may collect generic information about your operating system, browser type, and audio interface settings to help us optimize audio performance.
• Local Storage: We use your browser's Local Storage to save app preferences (like audio interface selections and calibration offsets) locally on your device. This data is not transmitted to our servers.

3. 100% Local Audio Processing

Your privacy and creative ownership are paramount. When you use OnBass for daily practice, all audio processing occurs strictly locally on your device within your browser.

• We do not record, store, or transmit your audio to our servers.
• We do not use your private practice sessions to train our machine learning models.
• Audio data is only collected if you explicitly navigate to our dedicated Crowdsourcing page and manually opt-in to donate a specific recording.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

• To improve the accuracy and performance of the OnBass AI models.
• To diagnose technical issues and optimize DSP latency across different devices.
• To understand how users interact with our application to guide future features.

5. Data Anonymization

We utilize PostHog for product analytics. To protect your privacy and comply with global privacy standards, we have configured our analytics to anonymize IP addresses and operate in a cookieless mode where possible. We take reasonable steps to ensure telemetry data is de-identified and we do not link it to personally identifiable information. Any local storage used by the app is essential for its core functionality (e.g., saving audio settings).

6. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location (e.g., GDPR in Europe, CCPA in California, or PIPC in South Korea), you have rights regarding your personal data. Because our collected telemetry data is generally de-identified, we usually cannot link specific records to you to process deletion requests. You can opt-out of telemetry collection through standard browser Do-Not-Track (DNT) settings or ad-blockers.

Crowdsourcing Exception: If you explicitly submit audio data through our Crowdsourcing feature and choose to provide your email address, this data is linked to your email. You may contact us at any time using that email address to request the deletion of your submitted audio files and associated data.
